Sara's Story
Sara started riding when she was 2 years old and was lucky enough to be born into a very horsey family with her mother, Helen Gallop (BHSI), a keen advanced event rider, grandmother, Sheila Weston (BHSAI), founder of Summerhouse and grandfather, John Gallop, a keen huntsman with the Berkeley Vale.
As a child she had great fun getting involved in all pony club activities, competing as part of the PC area dressage, jumping and eventing teams on her 2 superstar ponies, Summerhouse Irish, whom competed at Sansaw Park & Summerhouse Coconut, who went on to gain a place on the British Pony Eventing Team.
Sara was fortunate to grow up at the ever growing Summerhouse Equestrian & Training Centre, a family owned business, set up in 1978 by Sheila and John Weston, now run by Helen & Sara.
With Helen competing successfully at 2* British Eventing level, Sara was always by her side and followed in her foot steps taking part in the pony club area eventing team competitions and then moving onto horses when Helen's career took a turn to pure show jumping.
During her time at school, Sara worked and trained for her BHS exams and BS course designer qualifications at Summerhouse, as well as training and competing a number of young horses in both jumping and dressage competitions, under the instruction of a number of fantastic trainers such as Claire Sansom, Rowland Fernyhough and Pammy Hutton.

In 2006, a good friend of Sara's convinced her to purchase a young, super special dressage horse called 'Don Diego' as a 4 year old. Diego went on to win the National Shearwater 5 year old championship title in 2007, she was hooked and the dressage bug took over.
Sara now holds her BHSII, is an associate BS course designer & an International Dressage Rider & Trainer, holding 2 National and 6 Regional Titles - training under Carl Hester, for the last 5 years as well as being fortunate enough to have weekly help from Charlotte DuJardin.
Zelham & Diego is now Grand Prix and Sara has produced a number of other young horses to
Prix St George and Grand Prix level, including
Summerhouse Darcy,
Summerhouse Don Diego,
Summerhouse Zelham,
Summerhouse Bandreo.
Summerhouse Delano &
Summerhouse Loverboy.

“
I feel so fortunate to be based at the centre, allowing me to work and train my horses in the fantastic facilities that my family
have worked hard to provide. Giving me a base for my clients to come and train, as well as allowing me to fulfill my role
as Centre Manager. Not to mention the fantastic team we have at Summerhouse which makes all this possible, their support
is invaluable, but my biggest thank you must go to my mother, who has been so supportive over the years,
it has been a pleasure to work and build our business together, her support has been overwhelming. Bring on the future,
I'm excited!
